Screeching Liberals Trump Droning Sports Chatter

December 26th, 2006 by Justin

Liberal talk and sports talk are basically the same thing. Everyone knows the end of your argument based on your first sentence and all of your callers either agree whole heartedly or think you should die. Normally, a successful show in either genre relies on a over the top personality to package this repetitive mess in an attractive audio box that doesn’t make your listener base what to pee inside their radios.

In fact, there is really only one difference between the two, sports talk is a cash cow and Air America is a pile of burning money. Because of this, a Clear Channel owned Wisconsin station was all set to pull AA in favor of Fox Sports Radio before a bunch of meddling kids got together and had a rally, therefore preserving their opportunity to listen to NPR with an attitude.

According to this story, the kids got 5,000 signatures and held a “large rally.” This is impressive until you realize that the credit card stand at a Brewers game likely gets 5,000 signatures per week and all they have to offer is a free beach towel.

Oh well, Wisconsin looks like you will have to wait until Air America finally goes belly up before you can get 24/7 discussion about Brett Favre’s eating habits.
