Old Windbags More Interesting In Windows Media Player

We talk to each other

There is a cycle to most revolutions. They organize, gain support, storm the establishment and take over. That’s the good part, what people like to talk about, but it is only half of the cycle. Because it is after all that the revolutionaries fight amongst themselves until becoming complacent and adopting many of the traits of the old regime by way of pragmatism. It is simply the circle of life.

For instance, remember when Jon Stewart went on Crossfire and lit into Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala for being ill informed chatterboxes that hurt our national understanding of complex issues by simplifying them to screaming points? Remember how the internet cheered and cheered and cheered?

Well, according to the New York Sun this morning the natural progression of our hatred for over simple argument shows is to have other old people we don’t know do it on the internet. BloggingHeads.tv offers just such a line of programming, including their headliners, an Out Of Touch Lib matching wits with Conservative Democrat.

The webcam presentation is reasonably well done, although the site itself looks like it was designed as a community college project in ‘98, but there is only so far you can go with that kind of content. Don’t get me wrong, I am glad this kind of thing exists on the internet (hell, we already have horse fucking) and I hope it continues to draw an audience. However, it is still funny to me that while Old Media is slowly choking on its own vomit, New Media is busy putting on his dying fathers clothes to see if they fit better.

LOUD NOISES (now on the internets as well) [NY Sun]

They should put this on TV or something [BloggingHeads.tv]

Dying father’s clothing, how eloquent of you dear. You should be given a literary award. Haha. Smiles.
