LOUD NOISES! (or, why you can’t talk on television without being destroyed in the aftermath)
September 25th, 2006 by Justin
Bill Clinton got the on the television Sunday and just flipped a bitch on Chris Wallace (not that Chris Wallace) when he asked the big man about what regrets he had in fighting the then embryonic War on Terror. What follows was a finger-wagging angerfest peppered with the ol’ Clintonian Right Wing Conspiracy talking points that haven’t been dusted off in public for far too long. Oh how, I missed them.
The funniest thing about this kind of stuff though is what happens in the post-game analysis. The conservative video compilation site Hot Air, offers a very comprehensive stockpile of reader submitted and internet culled fact errors and otherwise embarrassing points of fact. While even the Adriana Huffington seems a little weary on why Bill was there in the first place.
But really, was this a “conservative hit job?” Or was it just a tough line of questioning on a very sore subject? Could it be a little bit of both, i.e. a question that would only be asked by an audience that hates him, yet it nonetheless worth answering honestly?
Who gives a fuck, as long as we can make fun of it on the internets afterward.
