No Shit Sherlock

Let's get some burgers...Turns out the people don’t like to pay for television shows, or at least shows on CBS. In this age of DVRs, TiVos, Bittorrent and iTunes it certainly shows a deft understanding of their spot in our cultural quilt that they are completely reversing ship and offering all of their shows for free on these internets.

I kid CBS, but considering all the hype and hysteria surrounding YouTube right now, you have to applaud a company that understands that the more people who see your product the better off you are. And honestly, who is going to expect payment for a rerun of How I Met Your Mother? NPH wouldn’t do that.

Also on this subject, here is a very, very interesting article about John Perry Barlow, yes ladies, THE John Perry Barlow. He was an associate of the Grateful Dead and pioneered the concept of fan taping communities which created huge concert revenues for The Dead and Phish while seemingly “giving” away content that could have been sued for. Read it, please?

It’s Broadcast TV on the Internet, Grrrrreat [LAT]

just goes to show - there are only two kinds of people in the world. which hippie are you? which hippie were you? and which hippie are you going to be?
and if you’re not a hippie - you should jump off a cliff cuz you don’t really matter cuz you don’t know anything about life.

And yet you have to ask yourself… Was there sufficient demand for the Everybody Loves Raymond, Season 4 DVD to justify the production and marketing of the Everybody Loves Raymond, Season 5 DVD. Somebody is buying this shit.
