Laziness To Take Time Off?

The New York Observer points out this morning that the trend of shocking (read: not real) trend stories might be running out of steam. This leaves the time honored tradition of journalists making the news in their own head and justifying it with three boilerplate quotes and one wiiiiiiiiiiild anecdote, well, less trendy.

So goodbye “The Man Date” and “Metrosexuals Come Out”…..

Okay, I’m sorry. I would normally go about 100 more words on this silly story about other silly stories but I would be remiss to not mention the fucking prison riot going on in the James Frey post.

As far as I can guess, Joel is an admin for Frey’s (kinda butt) blog BigJimIndustries.com. He apparently bans anyone who dares mention an unkind word about The Frey and those who have been wronged in the past are now coming out of the wood work to rip him a new asshole right here on MBF. This, I assume, represents a rare moment in time when they can release pent up frustrations without the fear of censorship. Kind of like the Thunderdome but with invectives.

Oh and as far as the Observer goes, big ups to our friend Tom “Not Tommy” Scocca who just got a book deal that will send him to China for the next year. Gawker reports that this is quite the fortuitous job op considering his wife lives in Beijing where he will soon be working. From everyone here at MBF, we offer very serious congratulations to the first writer to banter with me and the Bitchfest readership.

   have to say, Frey sucks hard and fast and leaves chafing. He is just a bitch. I went onto his website in January, when it was finally up after being suspended after the Oprah fiasco and wrote some things criticizing that dickwad. Of course I was banned from his site. Basically all I did was call that douche a liar and a fraud. I claim truth as my defense. THe end.
