i never really understood why alcoholics apologize for their disease and behaviour. if they “can’t help themselves” then they ought to just accept that their life will dwindle to being “that drunkard, who everyone laughs at”. and if it’s an asshole alcoholic who doesn’t have the luxury of being a laughing stock because they scream anti-semetic slurs or plot to destroy the Apple empire, they have even less a reason to apologize for their disease. it’s like saying, “i’m sorry i committed genocide, i have a disease that causes it to happen and for that i am sorry.” now, i’m an “alcoholic hater”, i know too many, but i’m just saying stop fucking apologizing - it don’t do no good - just accept that your in the “i had many too many drinks” demographic.
