News came in yesterday that political mastermind Karl Rove testified for the fifth time to the Leakfest ‘05 grand jury, in an effort to “clean up some things” so they can reach a final resolution. This is an old story and we are really glad that it will hopefully, finally, momentarily be put to bed, with or without a(n extremely unlikely) blockbuster indictment of the Teflon Rove. Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald made a point to note that Rovey was still not a target in the investigation but did note that his own, permanently cocked, left eye brow has evolved into a sentient thinking machine capable of basic arithmetic and moderate palindromes.
Oh and you know a story is on its death rattle when 397 words of your 653 word story is all stock recap, with the new stuff consisting of official statements and strategic “no comments.”
